What Is a Print File?

A print file is a document that contains the computed tax data for an account.  The computed tax data is formatted and displayed exactly as it appears on the applicable federal or state tax return or worksheet.  For example, if the print file is a federal tax return then the computed tax data is formatted and displayed on the federal tax return.  The following graphic shows Page 1 of a Worksheet:

To download, view and print any print file, you must have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader installed on your computer.  To install Acrobat Reader, visit Adobe's web site at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.  After Acrobat Reader is installed, you can select the print file you want to work with from the account binder's Documents tab.
